Addiction affected my life in ways I didn’t fully understand at first. Over time, I learned that addiction doesn’t affect just one person - it reaches families, friendships, relationships, and entire communities. I created Ask An Addict because I believe honest conversations can replace some of the fear, confusion, judgment, and isolation that so often surround addiction.
This community isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about giving people a place to ask the questions they may be afraid to ask somewhere else, and giving people with lived experience a place to answer honestly.
Whether you’re struggling yourself, in recovery, worried about someone you love, grieving someone you’ve lost, or simply trying to understand, I hope Ask An Addict becomes a place where you can find honest conversation without judgment.
If you’re comfortable, I invite you to share your story too. You never know who may read it and realize they’re not alone.
